Rush’s goal at Doggie Shrink is simple: to tackle inappropriate reactive behavior. He assists by interrupting, re-directing and preventing reactivity of any kind by being non-reactive and calm himself. Rush’s assistance in our canine behavior training therapy sessions helps us change a dog's emotional response to things he fears, dislikes, or makes him overly-aroused. Because Rush is a happy, non-reactive, balanced dog, his presence alone influences a dog's behavior to become trustful and calm. Rush assists in lowering stress, creating balance, training alternate behaviors, reinforcing the absence of reactivity, and most importantly, quickly building the reactive dog's confidence and trust in the Doggie Shrink team. He is a rock-solid distractor dog with amazing trust in us! He gets growled at, lunged at, and barked at everyday…but is always happy to assist!!
Rush is a Black German Shepherd who we adopted from a private family due to behavioral issues. We trained him in on-off-leash obedience, agility, flyball and more. He enjoys his job as a K9 Counselor but is also an accomplished tracking and trailing dynamo!
A winning combination --- K9 Counselors Rush and Blitz are true game changers!
