Doggie Shrink K9 Counselor HyJinx

When is boisterous, rambunctious, and carrying-on a good thing in dog training? When your  name is HyJinx, of course! Her carefree antics and horseplay in the human world would probably get her into a lot of trouble, but at Doggie Shrink, she is just what the doctor ordered!

In addition to assisting in our behavior therapy sessions, HyJinx is a K9 Counselor for our in-home daycare, training, and dog walking services. Her main job is to assist us in evaluating and influencing play between dogs, teaching puppies how to socialize, teaching “share” behaviors with toys, encouraging nervous dogs to play and explore, leading fun playgroups, and reinforcing safe doggy encounters. Because she is more interested in “good times” than traditional training, she is a great “ice breaker” for the dogs new to our socialization groups. HyJinx is a skilled playmate who is extremely patient, tolerant, and loving with all dogs. Her comical interactions with them truly brings out the best social behavior in her four-legged friends!

HyJinx may be a Miniature English Bull Terrier, but her personality is anything but small! With a reputation for being extremely strong-willed and aggressive by nature, Bull Terriers are not a breed for just anyone. HyJinx, like her sister Hoodwink, was surrendered to animal control because of her "hyperactive, mouthy, aggressive and unpredictable behavior." The key to her success at Doggie Shrink is constant leadership, exercise, training and socialization…It’s what keeps this mini bull in balance!
